About the Composition
The first movement takes its inspiration from another bass piece I composed, Larix Decidua. I realised that the musical material I had used in that piece could still be elaborated, in fact the sounds and ideas come from that piece, but developed in another way.
The second movement takes its cue from a melody I composed years ago, and this was the right time to use it in a piece for double bass. A reference to the music of American Beauty.
The third movement takes its cue from today's fusion music and Djent music. A piece in song form that takes advantage of the instrument's singability and puts it into dialogue sometimes as a soloist sometimes as an accompanist.
Piano parts in orchestral and solo tuning are included with your purchase.
