About the Composition
Ave Maria (Tanti Anni Prima): The original version of this piece is for oboe and piano, under the title of "Tanti Anni Prima," which was part of the soundtrack composed by Piazzolla for the film "Enrico IV" (1984) by Marcello Bellocchio and with the actors Marcello Mastroianni and Claudia Cardinale.
However, the story goes that the Argentine composer gave a version with lyrics to the Italian singer María Ilva Biolcati, there are versions of the lyrics in Italian and Latin. This version is known as Ave Maria.
About the Arrangement
In this adaptation I created for guitar, I had to alter some harmonies and registers for the convenience of the instrument.
Please note the video linked above is not the exact arrangement, but rather, included allowing the customer to see how the melody sounds on the double bass.
