About the Composer

Blake Hilley is a Juilliard alumni and award-winning double bassist and composer. He was the former Section Double Bassist with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, and he is a current sub with the NY Phil and Atlanta Symphony. He was also invited to compete in the 2023 ARD International Double Bass Competition. Blake strives to push the bass from the back of the ensemble to the forefront, showing off the versatility of the bass.
