This music was composed for double bass players at Trinity Laban Conservatoire (London) in Montgomery, Powys, and over the late spring of 2014. The component items are tiny mood pictures and the title, of course, puns on an archaic usage of the word “crotchet” – meaning a whimsical, often ill-humored, impulse or thought.
