About Filip

Filip Dokljanov was born in 1998 in Belgrade. He received his musical education at the "Josif Marinković" Music School in Vršac at the double bass department in the class of prof. Aleksandar Janković, where he graduated as the best student of his generation. In 2017 he enrolled in the class of prof. Slobodan Gerić at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. He finished his bachelor studies as the best student of the string instrument's department and his master's studies with the highest average.

At the invitation of Tomaš Vybíral, in 2021 he continued his studies at the Prague Conservatory, where he playedwith professional orchestras - the Prague Chamber Orchestra and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, with whom he still collaborates today. As a solo double bassist of the Prague Chamber Orchestra, he participated at the prestigious festival "Canto de la tierra" in Colombia, where he performed in seven concerts, each of which was dedicated to a country of prolific composers.

Filip collaborates with the chamber orchestra "Strings of St. George" and as an external associate of the Radio Television of Serbia Symphony Orchestra and the Belgrade Philharmonic. Through the Erasmus program, in 2019, he studied at the Vigo Conservatory (Spain), where he played with the "Orquesta Clásica de Vigo" and the professional orchestra "Orquesta Vigo 430". In 2019, he also became a member of the National Ensemble "Kolo".

He is the founder and arranger of the unique double bass quartet "Veridis quo," which cherishes the works of local composers. His arrangement of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Cherubic Song for Double Bass Quartet was recorded on a compact disc attached to the monograph printed on the 30th anniversary of the "Bassomania" festival and published by the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. As an admirer of Franz Schubert's music, he prepared a collection of 10 transcriptions of Schubert's solo songs for double bass and piano, which was published at the beginning of 2024 by the eminent publishing house "Kompozitor" from St. Petersburg. He held seven solo concerts. The recitals within the "Mondays in Đorđević" concert series, the 32nd "Bassomania" festival, as well as within the "Season of Youth" concert series, stand out.

Filip is currently a doctoral student at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, where he is employed as a junior researcher with the aim of creating and promoting Serbian national music on the double bass. He is a two-time winner of the "Dositeja" Scholarship of the Fund for the Best Students of the Republic of Serbia.
