Daniel Alomia Robles: El Condor Pasa for solo double bass (arr. by Lloyd Goldstein)

This Peruvian folk song was made famous by Simon and Garfunkel, but if you listen to traditional recordings without the words, you hear soaring bamboo flutes, puffing pan-pipes, and flamenco-like strummed cuatros. I tried to emulate all these instruments, the flute playing on the mountaintop, the village band playing in the street, and the feeling of soaring over the Andes with the condor.
