About Kit
Kit Polen is a Chicago-based double bassist who performs extensively with orchestras and ensembles throughout the region. He is currently Assistant Principal Bass of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, and he performs regularly with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra—including on international tours across Europe, Asia, and the United States. Polen also appears frequently with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Joffrey Ballet, and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, he has performed with artists including Leon Fleisher and Yo-Yo Ma, and he currently serves as Principal Bass of Camerata Chicago Chamber Orchestra.
Outside of music, he and his wife Joyce enjoy traveling, cooking, and exploring the city together.
