Pietro Lusvardi: Schubert's Trout for solo double bass
About the Composition
‘Schubert’ trout’ is inspired by Schubert’s famous song ‘Die Forelle’ for piano and voice. The double bass plays the piano’s opening arpeggios using harmonics both arco and pizzicato. Also, it plays freely like a cadenza, the beautiful vocal melody exploring the full range of the instrument.
